3 Harry Patch

In honour of remembrance day, we’ve recorded an acoustic version of the song we wrote about Harry Patch, the last fighting tommy from World War I. Listen, share and remember.

Because remembrance day is a subject close to our hearts, we thought we’d do something a little different with the song. We hope you like it.

Harry Patch

There’s a light on the path
And I know these things won’t last
When you search for the meaning
And you run from the past
At the end of it there’s hope
That the friends you love the most
Will return, hold your hand, and rejoice

Well I’m standing my ground in my own damn way
Is it all I can offer that your life was not a waste
I will
I will
Remember

There’s a field, there’s a ghost
There’s white crosses on a hill
They draw a neat grid
Speak of problems gone away
To the other side of hope
And the dreams you might have held
Might have died but forgotten they are not

Well I’m standing my ground in my own damn way
Is it all I can offer that your life was not a waste
I will
I will
Remember

The ground shakes like the earth could sob
Big shells fired by little ones
Heavy eyes, black as coal
I can feel the madness coming for me
In the conversations and the operations
And the way you’re sated by names you can’t remember

But I’m standing my ground in my own damn way
Is it all I can offer that your life was not a waste
I will
I will
Remember
I will remember

The non-acoustic version of Patch features on our forthcoming album, The Lights of Distorted Science.

This will be the first chance for fans to get their hands on a physical copy of the album before the album’s general release on the 10th of December.

Support acts are two of our favourite alternative rock bands, Synopsis and Swamp Snakes, so get down early!

8.00 – 8.30: Synopsis
8.45 – 9.45: Captain Horizon
