Festival afternoon in the park is always packed with families who come to listen to original and world music, watch all different forms of dance and take part in the many activities for kids.

Time: 8:00pm. Address: 15 Main Road, Crick, NN6 7TU. The annual Crick Scarecrow Weekend is taking place again this year from Friday 8th to Sunday 10th July. Its aim is to provide villagers and village organisations an opportunity to raise funds for their chosen good causes and charities. Spread among various locations in the village will be many different activities and events for villagers and visitors of all ages to enjoy. There will be a bus touring the event so that people can travel from one location to another and the Friends of Crick School will be organising car parking. Villagers’ scarecrows will be displayed all weekend while attractions include the Crick Drama Group’s murder mystery evening, Crick Pre-school’s stalls and children’s activities, Crick Village Hall’s arts and photographs display, a circus organised by the Scouts/Beavers/Cubs, Victorian teas, bingo and a village market in the church. There is a silent auction to raise funds for the proposed sports field, a display of rare birds and huskies, an Air Ambulance stand and assorted stands for hair-braiding, glitter fashion and jewellery. On Saturday there is a music festival on the playing field. Headline act are Captain Horizon, a powerful 4 piece alt-rock band from the Midlands who have local connections and will be playing numbers from its brand new EP “Radiostasis”. Other local musicians and bands will be onstage at the pavilion to complete a line up that will provide live music from 10am to 6pm. Ice cream, food and drink vans are there to keep the audience refreshed. On Sunday the playing field has a car boot sale. Standing in this case for Horribly Monstrous Volume, HMV recently announced that they would be closing 60 stores. While some commentators believed this to be due to poor Christmas sales, the reality is that they spent ALL their money securing a world-beating band to play at their venue in Digbeth. THAT IS US. Come.
