Alex Thomson
Alex was born in Rugby in 1985. A lot of irrelevant events then took place, including the lengthy twin processes of civilisation and education. After 17 years of this, he started learning to play the bass. Two months later, he played his debut gig on a bass which looked like a world-beating feat of musical engineering, but wasn’t.
After several years of lonely and uninspired bedroom bass playing, Alex and Josh formed Middle England, who played several gigs in Birmingham to moderate critical acclaim.
From the mangled and smoking wreckage of Middle England, Alex and Josh salvaged Captain Horizon. Alex has high hopes now that their debut EP has been recorded.
Alex is a self-taught bass player. His biggest influences are John Entwistle, Geezer Butler, Flea, Justin Chancellor and Stu Hamm.
