Recording Starting this Weekend

We’re all set to start recording our first batch of tracks this weekend, which is all rather exciting! Josh is going to have his studio engineering brain in gear whilst the rest of us, well, just play!

The last few weeks have been spent tweaking and fine tuning the first batch of songs that we are going to record for the album. There is around 6 or 7 songs ready for recording with atleast a couple more ready to make the first demo stage.

The first batch of songs we are going to be recording are Sketch in Time, In the Name of my Father, Turn Away and Fall Like that.

In turn, we will of course keep you updated on how the whole thing is going and no doubt will post pictures, videos and teaser clips.

ursaDomine also played a very short set at the Shakespeare in Coventry as a short pilot gig to test out the songs and to give us really our first experience of playing ‘live‘ together.

The headline band for that evening where The RockHits, featuring ursaDomine’s very own Mez & Whitty.

Alex commented:

Also played four songs with the new band at The Shakespeare in Coventry on Saturday night, which was good fun. It served the dual purpose of satisfying my gig thirst and making me think a bit about what to do onstage during our new songs. And, as usual, I looked like I had had a twenty minute shower at the end of our tiny set. For all my “if you’re not sweating then you’re not trying hard enough” bravado, it’s still a little distressing, but following a conversation with my brother at least it turns out he has the same problem. We Thomsons are certainly a moist breed.

So, you can safely presume it went really well!
